Update

Hello everyone!

I'm not sure how many people check this anymore, but I'm going to make an honest effort to write on this more often. I'd like to start off with a little self promotion (which is allowed since it's a blog) and re-direct you to my profile on a website called Figment. It's a self publishing website and I'm going to be posting some of my stories on it. Here is my first one so I'd appreciate it if you could read it and review it for me! http://figment.com/books/681594-A-Moment-in-History-

Creative Writing Class

So most of you reading this probably know that I want to be an author. I am currently taking a creative writing course at Franklin and I am "forced" to post what I write on a blog. The purpose of posting my personal writing on the internet is to get over my fear of people reading what I write, so here is the link!

Disclaimer: My stories are not about anyone that I personally know without their permission or request.

Enjoy!

Carnevale Again

Carnevale was an interesting experience, even for just the two days that I went. On the first day we took the 10:30 train to Bellinzona and found a Carnevale tent that was full of Franklin students. My friends and I danced for hours and saw many strange things, which are probably typical for Carnevale.

The second night was much different, and I wasn't exactly excited to go. I ended up deciding to go out with my friends on the 10:20 train, which was standing room only. And by standing room only I mean that everyone at Franklin was standing on the train squished together. I noticed that one of my friends wasn't feeling well all of a sudden (he was drunk), and he showed me that he cut open his hands. He was also extremely sick and asked me to take him home when we got to Bellinzona. My friend Sam and I cleaned up his hands, make him drink water, and tried to get him to the platform. By this point our friend didn't want to move so we had to physically carry him onto the train. Carrying him wasn't easy even with both of us, and it turned out that we were on first class when we shouldn't have been. The train staff approached us, I asked them if they spoke Spanish, and I quickly explained to them what was happening. We didn't even have enough train tickets between us three, but they allowed us to be on the train and didn't fine us. They even asked us what they could do to help.

When we arrived back in Lugano we met the RA on duty and she helped us take care of our friend. Eventually we got him all the way back to his room. I'm thankful that I went to Carnevale last night even when I didn't want to; if I hadn't, I wouldn't have been able to help out my friend in need.

Carnevale!

Hello everyone! I haven't posted in a while, but I didn't really have much to say before now. This semester is going great. I love most of my classes, which are Creative Writing, Reading Literatures, English, Italian, and Game Theory. Yes, it's a lot of literature and writing courses but that's what I love to do. I'm currently deciding between a Literature major and being a Comparative Literature and Culture Studies (CLCS) major with a minor in Creative Writing.

This week is particularly exciting because I am going to Carnevale! Around this time of year, Italy and my canton in Switzerland have their Carnevale events, so I bought a weekend pass to go! This is quite exciting for me since I have never been to one before. Customarily people dress up in crazy costumes, ones more ridiculous than Halloween. Imagine a crazier Halloween that lasts for weeks, that's what I'll be experiencing! Have a good day everyone! I'll be sure to write how this weekend goes. :D

P.S. Yes, carnevale is spelled with an e in Italian, I'm not crazy :)
